Product Description:

This 2-cd set features highlights from a 1958 concert given at The Riverside Church in New York City on the occasion of Clarence Dickinson's 85th birthday. Dr. Dickinson and others conduct a choir of over 800 members, and organists Robert Baker, John Huston, Charlotte Garden, Fred Swann, and others play the magnificent Aeolian-Skinner organ in anthems and organ solos written by, or arranged by, Dr. Dickinson. There are tributes by Virgil Fox, Paul Austin Wolfe, Dr. Henry Van Dusen, and others. Leo Sowerby's anthem, "Eternal Light," was written for the occasion, and its world premiere performance is featured here. Over two hours of music on two CDs (mono recording).
